Mill St Stuffed

"A damp pitch"- mmm understatement of the year ! There is more life left in Gerald than that pitch, so we quickly revised our target score down from 250 to a more realistic 125. Stuart & his Gramps started steadily to give us a sound platform for the big hitters. But Bomber "bombed" & Sam stuttered, leaving Tim & Fuzz to top score before the tail wagged & Steeno scored the required single to reach 125 off the last ball. Skip looked quietly confident at the break, and Ollie, Sam & Fuzz didnt let us down with some tight opening overs. Nigel & Trevor were in buoyant mood having got their Thursday discounts at B& Q, and only a blind pigmy umpire deprived Fuzz of a clean bowled, out of the sun. Steeno, Peter & Howard shelled a few catches to keep them interested, but ultimately they were well beaten by a better team.
Man of the match Stuart Locke for a handy 20 & a blinding effort behind the stumps- Robbo should be worried.

Cuxham away next Thursday

I told you I was going to be late- why did you not let me bat higher ? I have been making myself available every week, and Claridge is ignoring me. I thought those catches I dropped were jolly tricky. Give me a break please.............

Surely the answer to the question about your batting position is in your opening statement as regards your punctuality. "Jolly tricky" catches is not a terminology I would use to describe your fielding aberrations!(Joke, you touchy bugger!). Also, when you are part of a team, you dont embark upon some kind of self-ostracism policy of sitting on a bench away from your team-mates and then when being called upon to bat for the last ball of the innings, find yourself wandering out to bat asking "how many overs are left?".Surely if you want to be part of the team, then is it not fair to suggest that you might pay a modicum of attention to what is actually going on in the game rather than being wrapped up in your own whingeings! I would like to think that you will take this constructive criticism on board and use it to further your potential cricketing career.

Now lets all concentrait on the common goal here. Destroying Cuxham. And if we don't mannage that we can always take a team pea on their wicket afterwards as a team bonding exercise.

P.P.S. Let us also ignore my bad spelling. I blame the teachers.
